When you chose...

Coosa Medical Group   as the provider for your family's medical needs...you entrusted a unique group of doctors, nurses and medical staff who firmly believe that your health and the health of your family deserves our utmost concern and attention... and in these changing times, our dedication to the quality of care remains constant. You can be confident that you have chosen the finest medical care.

Medical prescriptions and refill orders are issued during regular office hours. During evenings and weekends it is difficult for the doctor to determine if a prescription or refill is indicated if he does not have your medical record available while away from the office. Consequently, the doctor will not write refills or prescriptions after office hours except in recognized emergencies.

We file unpaid charges with insurance companies on an assigned basis. Charges paid by you will be filed with your insurance companies on a non-assigned basis; or, you may choose to personally file for paid charges by submitting a copy of charges to your insurance company. Policies vary in type and extent of coverage. Some pay fixed allowances, others percentages. It is your responsibility to pay any deductible amount, co-insurance or balance due.

Workers' Compensation

Patients referred for an employment-related injury or illness must have an employer's authorization to file claims for workers' compensation. Otherwise, patients will be held accountable for payment. Properly authorized services are the responsibility of the employer.

Billing and Credit

Charges for office medical services are due and payable at the time services are provided. After a hospital stay, you will receive a statement for services after your insurance payment is deducted. Full payment is expected for the amount billed.
If you are unable to pay the balance billed, please discuss the matter with your account representative to avoid misunderstandings and keep your account in good standing. Except for hardship cases, accounts past due are referred to a collection agency.

We are participating physicians in the Medicare program and file all claims on your behalf. We accept the Medicare allowable as fee for services provided. You will be responsible for payment of the deductible portion and 20% of the approved charge. You will receive a statement from us after Medicare has paid their portion.

We are also providers under the Georgia Medicaid program. Simply present your card at the time of your visit.

We welcome your calls. Feel free to discuss with us any questions or concerns about your care. Many times, the doctor is involved in patient care and unable to speak with you at the time of your call. However, the Coosa Medical Group doctor or his assistant will return your call as soon as possible. If you have an emergency, please let the staff member know immediately.

Emergencies & Weekends

A physician is always on call for an emergency. If calling after clinic hours, you may reach the answering service by calling our regular office number...(706) 295-0070. The on-call physician will return your call as quickly as possible. In the event of a severe problem, go to your hospital emergency room and ask them to notify your doctor.

Appointments may be scheduled directly by the patients or other physicians.  Follow-up appointments may be scheduled as needed. We make every effort to honor all time commitments and urge you to coordinate your schedule closely to meet your appointments. We suggest you arrive approximately fifteen minutes prior to your appointment in order to complete the registration process. You will be notified as soon as possible if an emergency arises that will prevent the doctor from meeting your appointment. Please contact us as early as possible so other patients can utilize your time allotment.
